  • Our activity is built on partnerships. We’re designed to connect private-sector partners – especially local businesses and those new to USAID – with USAID. Our streamlined partnership process makes it easy for your business to tap into contracts and grants with USAID and for USAID to access the expertise needed to spur trade and investment across the African continent. By joining the the USAID Africa Trade and Investment activity partner network, you’ll ensure that your firm receives the latest news on all partnership opportunities through. You will also be invited to regular partner network convenings where you will have the chance to network and learn from our other partners.

  • No - our grant and contract opportunities are open. While partner network members are invited to submit a proposal for a contract opportunity, our procurements are open to any firm who can fulfill the requirements outlined in the Request for Proposals.

  • Yes, for-profit organizations are eligible to apply for grant-funding under the USAID Africa Trade and Investment activity. Please note that profit may not be included in part of the funding that would potentially be provided by USAID.

  • Please submit your question through our grant intake form. We respond to these questions on a rolling basis.

  • We’re committed to working with USAID to find and partner with organizations who have never worked with USAID before. If you’re new to working with USAID, we recommend exploring the “How to Work with USAID: a USAID Resource Hub.” This training series answers some of the most frequently asked questions about working with USAID, using advice straight from USAID staff. Although completing these training modules will not guarantee an award of USAID funds, you will come away with new skills and a greater understanding of the Agency.

Branding Guide for Our Partners

USAID has strict branding and marking policies, laid out in ADS Chapter 320: Branding and Marking. The key takeaways for USAID’s Branding Policy are:

  • USAID requires exclusive branding and marking on any deliverables USAID procures by a subcontract through the USAID Africa Trade and Investment activity. This means only USAID’s logo can appear on these deliverables.

  • USAID requires co-marking on any deliverables produced under a grant through the USAID Africa Trade and Investment activity. This means the USAID logo must appear alongside the grantee’s logo with equivalent size and prominence.

As USAID’s flagship contribution to the Prosper Africa initiative, all work under the USAID Africa Trade and Investment activity that advances Prosper Africa goals should be co-marked with both USAID and Prosper Africa logos. We work closely with all of our partners to ensure you have the guidance, templates, and resources you need to meet USAID and Prosper Africa branding requirements.

Communicating Externally About Your Work with USAID and Prosper Africa

We welcome partners across the USAID Africa Trade and Investment activity to communicate publicly about their work spurring trade and investment across Africa in partnership with USAID and in line with Prosper Africa goals of increasing two-way trade and investment between Africa and the United States. We strongly encourage our partners to send us any external communications that mention USAID and Prosper Africa. We will share them with the appropriate contacts within the U.S. Government and can help amplify the outreach.
